Clark Testing is looking for an Electrical Test Engineer for our Jefferson Hills-based propulsion test laboratory. The Propulsion Laboratory Test Engineer is responsible for utilizing his/her engineering skills working in a test laboratory to qualify mechanical and electrical equipment for manufacturers and end users. Programs typically adhere to IEEE, IEC, IBC, UBC, MIL, ASME, ASTM, NQA1, and ANSI testing methods. The work performed includes electrical/mechanical motor type testing, durability analysis and accelerated aging of mechanical and electrical components to certify and validate equipment for use in commercial and industrial applications.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with a team of engineers and managers to develop and execute testing programs for Clark’s customer base to design and fabricate test fixtures, install AC/DC motor connections, program variable frequency drives and PLC system for speed/torque control, perform testing with data acquisition, and develop final report.
- Interact with customers to determine test requirements and equipment specifications in order to develop test quotations, test procedures, and test reports.
- Ensure compliance of the test programs within the requisite industry standards.
- Work closely with technicians to provide guidance and instruction of the specific procedures to carry out test programs and manage the laboratory schedule and resources.
- Ensure that each test is in compliance with the company’s Quality Assurance (QA) program.
- Verify that the proper test equipment and instrumentation is selected and within the calibration period to meet the test and QA protocol.
- Prepare and deliver final report at the conclusion of customer’s tests including all data and technical account of the test sequence.
- Manage high value, multifaceted test projects that have durations up to one year.
- Work with management team to help build customer relationships and promote continued growth of the business.
- Take an active role in creating and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace and comply with all applicable safety expectations and health regulations.
- Perform other duties and tasks as needed and required by management.
- BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Minimum 2 years’ related work experience preferred.
- Experience and comfort level with Autodesk AutoCAD, GE Proficy/Simplicity, National Instruments LabVIEW or similar software preferred.
- Experience with instrumentation including programmable controllers, data acquisition systems, current transducers, voltmeters, power analyzers, speed sensors, torque meters, and thermocouples preferred.
- Sound understanding of advanced electrical circuits and ability to interpret technical specifications and standards.
- Effective communication skills utilizing knowledge and interpersonal skills in a technical environment.
- Team oriented, self-starter with a can-do attitude and leadership ability as well as a hands-on approach when needed.
- Commitment to ethical work standards and integrity with following QA procedures as well as good organizational skills for documentation and laboratory tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects across various disciplines simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extra hours and weekends when necessary.
- Must be able to lift, carry, move, and transport objects of up to 40 lbs. when needed.
- Must be able to reliably commute to work location, possessing a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is most suitable.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to pass drug screening and background checks.
