Responsible for the administration of purchasing and receiving goods and services at the Warren East location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for sourcing, negotiating and procurement of production and maintenance supplies and spare parts
- Work with the Maintenance Team to identify & purchase critical needs
- Makes purchases in a cost efficient and timely manner
- Maintain, track, and report monthly supplies inventory to Corporate Controller and Plant Manager (both consumables & maintenance items)
- Purchase and inventory administrative supplies for all plant departments and employees
- Work weekly with Corporate AP to resolve any PO discrepancies
- Issue purchase orders for capital projects as required
- Assist with set-up of new supplier accounts as required
- Reduce or minimize costs of plant parts, equipment, services, and consumable inventories by managing, analyzing, and communicating all purchasing functions
- Develop and maintain key supplier relationships
- Maintain and expedite open PO's (Expensed and Capitalized)
- Support plant purchasing coverage needs as required (vacation and absence)
- Optimize purchasing performance and efficiencies
- Analyze spending, research/plan cost reduction strategy, and communicate findings to appropriate personnel
- Support and ensure compliance with all initiatives, procedures, processes, and policies
- Other duties and projects as assigned by Plant Manager
- Technical knowledge of manufacturing environment, especially maintenance
- Ability to interact with all levels within the organization
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
- Strong work ethic
- High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Maintenance purchasing experience preferred
- Office/Production Floor
