Clarke Community School District is looking to hire an Elementary ELL Interpreter/Translator for the 2025-2026 school year.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Effective oral and written communication skills.
2. High school diploma or equivalency required.
3. Post high school training in related subjects desired.
4. Successful experience working with students and families with limited English proficiency desired.
5. Previous interpreting/translating experience is preferred.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsibilities include interpreting and translating for student(s) with limited English proficiency, translating documents and communicating school information to parents.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strong command of English and Spanish.
- Ability to relate successfully with students, staff, families, and the community.
- Ability to work as an advocate for the student and a liaison with the student, teacher(s), and parents.
- Ability to become knowledgeable about and apply classroom/building procedures and district policies.
- Ability to follow directions and to work independently.
- Take directions from principals, ELL teachers and classroom teachers.
- Work collaboratively with school staff.
- Interpret verbal communication – in school or over the phone with parents and teachers.
- Translate classroom assignments, documents, etc. for students.
- Translate written communication for parents and students.
- Assist with individual students or groups in classrooms as directed.
- Assist at registration, conferences and school events as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Encourage the student’s independence within the school setting.
- Be a cultural resource.
- Complete all safety training as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Pay rate and other benefits as per the negotiation CCESA contract.
EVALUATION: Evaluation procedure shall follow the Employee handbook.
