Position Title: Specialized Instructional Assistant Substitute for the Therapeutic Learning Program (TLP)
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Building Principal and Evaluation Team Supervisor
Terms of Employment: To cover a leave of absence from March 12, 2025 through the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
33.75 hours per week, 20.8665 - $26.8920 per hour. Non-benefits eligible position
Organizational Scope:
A member of the Department of Special Education, this position reports directly to the building Principal and to the Director of Special Education while working under the direction of the TLP Teacher and Social Worker.
Position Responsibilities:
- Tutor individual students under the direction of academic and therapeutic staff
- Support students in TLP and mainstream academic classes
- Facilitate implementation of strategies and interventions to address student’s academic needs
- Implement social/emotional/behavioral intervention plans as developed by team
- Collect data on behaviors, interventions, etc. in the classroom
- Provide coverage for staff
- Communicate with staff regarding student’s progress
- Triage students to appropriate staff
- Communicate with staff regarding student’s daily attendance to school/class
- Provide passes for students
- Attend staff meetings, community meetings, and other staff/student activities
- Other duties as assigned

- Contribute to a positive and productive environment within the program
Job Qualifications:
BS or BA/ highly preferred. Must be willing and able to physically manage students if needed. Classroom experience at the middle school level preferred.
Comfort and familiarity with social emotional disability needed. Ability to work in collaboration with a team and flexibility in day to day work tasks.
