As a Multimedia Specialist, you will play a key role in producing videos, digital assets, and dynamic visual content for a variety of internal and external platforms. The role requires creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure the production of high-quality and impactful media.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the production of internal and external videos, collaborating with marketing staff to take projects from concept to delivery. This includes:
- Storyboarding, video direction, filming, audio, lighting, and editing. Motion graphics and animation experience preferred.
- Capture candid photography, including snapshots, and campus activities
- Partner with the Social Media Specialist, serving as a backup to manage and maintain social media content
- Conduct video, photography, and higher education market research to ensure relevance and effectiveness of media content
- Supervise and guide photo/video interns, providing mentorship and ensuring high-quality results
- Create dynamic animated media for websites, emails, and other digital platforms
- Collaborate with the Content Strategist to craft compelling scripts tailored to specific audiences and platforms
- Ensure media assets are properly stored, organized, and readily accessible for future use
- Manage and organize photo assets for the University website, ensuring the visual library is consistent and up to date
- Work closely with the Associate Vice President of Marketing & Communications to align visual projects with the organization's strategic direction
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements, conducting research on the latest video production equipment and technologies
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communication or related field is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work with various members of the university community.
- A self-motivated, creative problem solver with the ability to work well under deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, and Audition).
- Knowledge of typography, digital files, image scanning, linked graphics, photo and project archives, color corrections, CMYK conversions and output, vector graphics, color palettes and PDF proofs.
- Some night and weekend work may be required, based on campus events and activities.
- This is a full-time position.
