Position: GIS Intern
Location: Roselle, IL (on site - not remote)
Shift: Flexible hours between 7 am - 6 pm, Monday - Friday
Hours: Part-Time, 16-32 hours per week (2-4 days per week, flexible to be determined after hire)
Pay: $18-$20/hr
Duration: 6-month internship with possible extension (March 2025 start date)
As a GIS intern at Clarke, you will be able to make a meaningful impact on our Service Operations and community initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Updating and maintaining spatial data/maps for service operations
- Supporting internal map requests and inquiries
- Assisting with mobile field apps and dashboard maintenance
- Ground or aerial surveys
- GIS related fieldwork
Successful Candidate Must:
- Have completed (at minimum) 2 college-level GIS courses OR have 1-2 years of experience working with a GIS software. Preference will be given to those with or pursuing a Geography Degree or GIS Certificate.
- Be able to analyze and interpret spatial data
- Understand GIS principles, systems, and technologies
- Have experience with the ESRI suite of products - ArcGIS is required, other GIS software experience a plus (QGIS, MapInfo, Google Earth, Google MyMaps)
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
- Have a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record
- Ability to sit and drive a vehicle for extended periods as well as walk extensively
