Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Warehouse Team Lead to oversee daily operations in our furniture delivery warehouse. This role combines hands-on leadership with strategic management responsibilities to ensure efficient warehouse operations and exceptional delivery service.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of furniture items
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures to maximize efficiency and productivity
- Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy through regular audits and cycle counts
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions for furniture items
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment
Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
- Identify training needs and implement development programs
- Foster a positive work environment and strong team culture
Quality Control
- Establish and maintain quality control standards for furniture handling and storage
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage
- Manage claims and returns processes
- Implement best practices for furniture protection during storage and handling
Administrative Duties
- Generate and analyze performance reports
- Manage warehouse documentation and records
- Coordinate with other departments (sales, customer service, delivery teams)
- Participate in budget planning and cost control measures
- Monitor and maintain equipment and supply inventory
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of warehouse operations experience, preferably in furniture or large item handling
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid forklift certification
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations and OSHA requirements
