Clarkson College is currently seeking a Professional Development Program Coordinator. This position serves as a role model, teacher, consultant, change agent, recruiter, and facilitator in assessing learning needs of clinical staff/students in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and activities for Nurse Aid Course, Medication Aide Course, Medical Assistant Course, and other Community Advancement health care courses utilizing a college or state of Nebraska approved curriculum. Responsible for curricular maintenance of courses. Oversees clinical site instructors in their instructional role and maintains contact and assists in establishing contracts with numerous clinical sites. Dialogue with medical facility clinical personnel and other instructors expected as needed per course.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years nursing experience required; one year or more experience working in a long-term care facility required.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience teaching nurse aide, medication aide or other related health care courses OR a minimum of six months experience supervising nurse aides or nurses required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
  • Current State of Nebraska RN license or compact agreement state RN license required.
  • Current American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers required.
  • Current valid motor vehicle operator's license required.
  • Ability to meet and maintain insurability requirements as defined by the fleet automobile liability insurance carrier required.
  • Demonstrated desire to work with students required.

  • Good organizational skills required.
  • Effective problem-solving skills required.
  • Effective communication skills required.
  • Ability to foster and model effective customer relations required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Previous experience in instruction of nurse aide course and/or medication aide course preferred.
  • Previous experience in curriculum development preferred.
