Job Summary:
A Front Office Specialist will act as the first point of contact, setting the tone for a world-class patient experience. This role will perform administrative tasks to create a smooth check-in/out experience for patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Embody our Total Patient Experience, building relationships with patients and delivering exceptional service and support.
- Provide outstanding customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone).
- Greet patients promptly with a smile and thank them when they leave.
- Answer phones (both external and internal) with prompt and courteous service.
- Practice urgency while considering patients', doctors', and schedules' time.
- Verify insurance authorizations and complete flow sheets accurately.
- Understand common fees charged for standard visits.
- Check out patients and collect payments according to procedures.
- Manage patient flow and communicate effectively to maximize efficiency and customer service.
- Complete daily reconciliations and close day/end-of-shift cash drawer.
- Comply with company policies and procedures, including HIPAA guidelines.
- Perform general office duties and cleaning tasks assigned by managers.
Patient Population Served:
- The Front Office Specialist will work with diverse team members and patients of all ages, races, and genders.
Education, Licensure & Certification Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Experience Requirements:
- Industry-related experience is preferred.
- A favorable background check result is necessary.
- Valid proof of identity and right to work in the United States is required.

Location: Work takes place in a normal office environment. Travel may be necessary to fulfill essential duties and responsibilities, requiring access to dependable transportation and a driving record that meets company liability carrier standards.
Exposure: Normal office environment exposure may include blood or bodily fluids and various cleaning supplies.
Equipment: A computer, fax machine, copier, printer, scanner, and telephone are commonly used equipment. Knowledge of Microsoft applications and other equipment may be necessary depending on sub-specialty requirements.
