JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Kitchen Worker
STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
SUMMARY: The Kitchen Sanitation Aide is responsible for applying knowledge and experience to maintain sanitation of the kitchen and dining room.
HOURS OF WORK: 25 hours of work
SUPERVISOR: Kitchen Manager or chain of command
QUALIFICATIONS:
1*. Education: *Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
2. Experience: General cleaning and sanitation
3. Skills: Have good communication skills with the ability to comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions.
4. Knowledge: State Health Department regulations regarding operations and food handling.
5. Ability: Lift up to 40-lb. boxes, large pans of food and dishes to heights of 3-4 feet.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Monitor and maintain sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards. Ensure kitchen and guest dining areas are cleaned between meals.
2. Operates and maintains various machines such as dish washing machines, garbage disposals, sinks, pots, pans, utensils and all other kitchen equipment and surfaces including the breakdown of machines as assigned
3. Adheres to all Health Department sanitation and safety regulations as required
4. Transports garbage containers and all other debris from the kitchen area and bars to designated dumpsters
5. Participate in all available staff training.
6. Assist with delivery of food and non-food items.
7. Other duties that pertain to the kitchen duties.
