Company Overview
We are seeking a Tax Manager with a background in captive insurance to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all tax-related activities specific to captive insurance, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and providing strategic tax planning and advice.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Peparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for a captive insurance entity and its subsidiary.
- Ensure compliance with IRS guidelines and regulations specific to captive insurance, including risk shifting and risk distribution requirements
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position, particularly in relation to captive insurance structures.
- Conduct tax research and provide guidance on tax-related issues, including the tax implications of captive insurance arrangements
- Manage tax and financial statement audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities.
- Prepare and review tax provisions and financial statements for captive insurance entities.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company's captive insurance operations.
- Collaborate with other members of the tax department in the completion of ad hoc projects, standardization, and automatization of tax processes, related to the captive and or affiliated entities.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management, with a focus on captive insurance.
- Practical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations related to captive insurance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual Spanish
