Position Overview:
Claros Technologies' team is rapidly growing as we move towards our goal to Solve Problems without Creating New Ones. We are seeking a collaborative, driven individual to join our team as our Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. The EHS Manager will be tasked with managing Claros' EHS program, both through daily operations and larger EHS programming.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage hazardous-waste program
- Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required
- Evaluate ongoing technical projects and implement appropriate hazardous waste management in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate schedule and prepare documentation for hazardous waste disposal
- Maintain constant internal communication regarding EHS policies, needs, and programs
- Report EHS metrics, concerns, projects, and progress to the Safety Committee
- Inspection metrics for the inspection of the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Incident and near miss metrics
- Develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
- Maintain Claros' permits for continued operation.
- Prepare and schedule training to cover emergency procedures, site plan, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures.
- Ensure that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Human Resources Job Functions:
- Complete HR Documentation as required for employment changes; maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records
- Assist with employee onboarding and off-boarding
- Support other HR & Administration functions either as a primary or backup responsibility as required
- Support Talent Acquisition Functions:
- Interview scheduling and coordination
- Phone Screening
- Ensuring feedback is communicated to recruiters
Competencies & Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; Masters degree desirable.
- 5 years of related experience preferred.
Job Specifications
- Compensation: $100,000 - $110,000
- Location: In person at the Claros Headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota. May be required to periodically work from additional work sites in the Twin Cities Metro.
- Travel: No travel.
- Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
