LPN Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced licensed practical nurse (LPN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery team. The candidate will care for patients, perform peri-operative duties, assist in turning OR rooms and perform laser procedures as appropriate. A compassionate attitude, coupled with impeccable bedside manner and an ability to work in a fast- paced environment. The position reports up to the Charge RN.
LPN Job Duties and Responsibilities
Collect, track, and maintain patient history; record any new data
Take vitals, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, etc.
Administer medication, including some injections; monitor medication doses and patient response
Change bandages, dressings, as needed
Assist patients with personal hygiene
Assist anesthesia as requested.
Help patients who need assistance ambulating
Admit/discharge to the pre/post areas. Instruct patients in post operative instructions.
Collect specimens; deliver them to proper department
Provide emotional support to patients and patients’ families; listen to concerns and feedback
Take instruction from and report updates to registered nurse/overseeing physician
Report any unusual or drastic changes in patient behavior/symptoms; seek help from superiors when needed
Ensure prompt turnover of OR rooms.
Follow state and federal mandated standards and procedures
Perform laser procedures as instructed
Other duties as assigned.
LPN Job Requirements and Qualifications
Completed state-approved LPN education program; current LPN license to practice
Valid CPR certification
Previous clinical and/or healthcare experience
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite; adept at data entry
Willing to work long, physically demanding hours
Understanding of healthcare state standards and procedures
High level of patience, empathy and compassion
Excellent observation skills with high attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Salary : $13 - $18
