About this role
As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will work from the perspective of your lived experience to help build environments conducive to recovery. Promoting hope, personal responsibility, empowerment, education, and self-determination in the communities where they serve. You will be trained to assist others in skill-building, problem-solving, setting up and maintaining self-help mutual support groups, and building self-directed recovery tools. A critical aspect of this role is supporting others in developing their recovery goals, and specific steps to reach those goals.
Perks of this role:
- $15.30-$18.04/hour
- $1,00 sign-on bonus
- Flexible Schedule- 8-hours with day, night and weekend shifts available
What we are looking for:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 18 years of age or older
- Self-recognized identity as a person living with a mental health condition and willing to use your direct lived experience to support others in their recovery
- Minimum of one (1) year working towards wellness and recovery
- Valid GA driver’s license with clean driving record
- Satisfactory results of Criminal background check
Preferred but not required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling etc.)
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a mental health or substance abuse residential facility; OR
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with a psychiatric population
