We are currently accepting applications for a Quality Superintendent in our State-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Watertown, WI , conveniently located between Madison and Milwaukee. The position works first shift with some after hours calls and supervises the Quality Technicians and Building Cleaners. The position reports to the Quality Manager.

JOB SUMMARY : The primary purpose of the Quality Superintendent is to assist the Quality Manager in the development, implementation, and coordination of quality systems and programs to prevent or eliminate food safety risks and product quality defects in new and existing products. The Quality Superintendent maintains the authority to cease operations in the event that compliance to quality standards are not being met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain regulatory compliance with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the State of Wisconsin.Maintain customer compliance such as information requests, audits, labeling, testing requirements, specifications, complaints, production support, problem solving, etc.Develop, implement and execute continuous improvement upgrades to the quality systems and programs.Coordinate facility contracted services such as lab testing, pest control, etc.Oversite of facility sanitation programs.Participate in establishing facility policies, operating procedures, and goals.Participate in customer, regulatory, and third-party facility audits.If assigned, act as Watertown Facility's SQF (Safe Quality Food Institute) Practitioner to oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System.Acts as back-up to Quality Manager during absences. Includes covering all aspects of Quality Manager's position.Acts as back-up to Quality Supervisor as needed during absences.Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws for all direct reports. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work, coaching, appraising performance, training, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.Travel to other CQC facilities, training, vendors, and / or customers.Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor, while following all company, safety, and quality policies and procedures.Member of Facility Food Safety Team.Maintain regular attendance at work.Designate and fully support a site SQF Practitioner :To oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF system, including food safety fundamentals and the food safety plan.Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF systemCommunicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF system.Guidelines for SQF Practitioner :
Be employed by the site as a company employee on a full-time basis;Hold a position of responsibility in relation to the management of the site's SQF system;Have completed HACCP training course;Be competent to implement and maintain HACCP based food safety plans;Have an understanding of the SQF Food Safety Code and the requirements to implement and maintain SQF System relevant to the site's scope of certification.QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree is preferred : Science Based (Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, or similar).Minimum of 5 years of quality-related experience within a food manufacturing environment, including advancing levels of leadership and responsibility.Knowledge of Food Safety, Federal, State, Local, etc. regulations and requirements required.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
