Position Summary:
This is a 3-6 month internship, starting 1/6/2025, located in Rockville, MD.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic college student to join our team in the field of antibody discovery and protein engineering. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic laboratory environment, focusing on bringing automation and high throughput approaches to classical biochemical and molecular biology problems with the goal of discovering truly cancer-specific therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn classical molecular biology and biophysical techniques (DNA manipulation and protein production/characterization) and assist in building automation workflow to improve throughput capabilities using computational and robotic approaches.
- Learn and participate in protein purification process and conduct protein quality and kinetic analyses.
- Collaborate with team members to support ongoing research and development projects.
- Communicate effectively with team members to report findings and progress.
- Shipment/storage of final reagent materials.
Qualifications:
- Currently a rising senior, enrolled in a college program related to engineering, biochemistry, biology, chemistry etc.
- Prior experience working in a lab.
- Strong interest in automation, computational biology and/or robotics, biologics.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to learning.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
