Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This role requires a strong understanding of various truck types, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds. The Local Driver will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies
Weekly average $1200
At least 6 months experience
must be 50 mile radius of Temple
Short haul pay, pay stop pay and unload pay if accessible
Clean MVR.
Responsibilities
- Operate various types of trucks, including freight vehicles, tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds.
- Execute route driving to deliver goods to specified locations in a timely manner.
- Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring safe handling of materials.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a strong understanding of route driving.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles effectively.
- Familiarity with freight handling and delivery processes.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and customers.
- Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
