Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating various types of trucks, including tanker, flatbed, and tractor-trailer units. Duties
- Operate trucks safely and efficiently, including tanker, flatbed, and tractor-trailer models.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks.
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules and minimize delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding any issues or delays encountered during route driving.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding truck driving and transportation.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Knowledge of route driving techniques to ensure efficient navigation.
- Ability to operate various types of trucks including roll-off trucks and delivery vehicles.
- Experience with freight handling and loading/unloading processes.
- Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate delivery records.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with dispatchers and clients.
- A commitment to safety protocols and regulations in transportation.
