TEACHER
POSITION DEFINITION:CLASS Academy, a Private Academic School for Special Education and Regular Education Students in Grades 4-12, is seeking a qualified Elementary (4-8) classroom instructor, with a background in hands-on learning, working with students in need of advanced emotional and social support, differentiated instruction and a strong background and support in positive behavior interventions and supports. CLASS Academy is not seeking instructors who are not interested in integrating positive behavior intervention and support throughout all aspects of their teaching, both education and emotional.
Our school is committed to providing excellent care and counseling to our students, helping to prepare them to make appropriate choices and continue as active learners in the classroom. CLASS Academy will be several different teaching positions due to school expansion and significant growth.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of subject area
- Ability to work with students who have social, emotional and learning difficulties.
- Able to maintain good classroom management with strong integration of positive behaviors interventions
- Able to communicate with parents timely and effectively
- Handle and manage student behaviors internally within a classroom through support systems
- Ability to be engaging, innovative and NOT a “behind the desk” instructor
- Able to follow guidelines and expectations of faculty lesson plans, grades, etc.
- Willing to assist with other tasks as requested to assist with the operations of the private school and a strong understanding that as a private organization duties will vary and change from time to time.
- Ability to adapt and change while providing a personalized experience for all students
- Represent the mission statement of CLASS Academy at all times.
- Follow the Policies & Procedures of CLASS Academy
- Serve in the capacity of instructor, speaker and trainer as needed.
- Attend agency and program meetings as requested/required.
- Demonstrate a professional leadership image as a representative of the agency.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Education and Teaching Certification
- Significant knowledge and true buy-in of positive behavior interventions and supports.
- All clearances associated with this teaching position
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $41,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
