What are the responsibilities and job description for the Van Driver position at CLASS LTD?
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the safe, courteous and efficient transportation of clients and the public, as applicable, over CLASS's established van routes or on an as-needed basis from the pick-up point to the final destination or as needed for general public transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: State accredited high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience: Previous commercial driving experience preferred, but not required.
Requirements: Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., when necessary. Be to work frequently or long periods of time in a seated position. There may be other physical requirements for specific work assignments, extended periods of standing, working in the heat, Bad weather, etc.
Other:
1) Maintain a current and valid driver's license and insurance of the state of residence and be determined as an "insurable driver" by the automobile insurance carrier for CLASS.
2) Comply with all federal, state and local laws regarding communicable and infectious diseases and CLASS policies rules and practices regarding medical examination or immunizations.
3) No records of convictions, administrative findings or history of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children or adults unable to protect their own interest, and conviction of other crimes, including, but not limited to crimes against persons, sex crimes, crimes against property, violation of personal rights, public safety, public morals, or any crimes that would be classified in Kansas as a felony or deemed unacceptable for employment with CLASS.
4) Completes required annual in-service training/certification.
5) Ability to maintain vehicle log sheets and completion of daily vehicle safety check..
6) Ability to identify maintenance needs of vehicle.
7) Ability to communicate effectively with others.
8) Ability to comprehend materials generated by CLASS
9) Tact and diplomacy required when dealing with persons served and the general public.
10) High degree of attention required to safely load/unload passengers and to prevent injury to others and damage to vehicle when operating van or other company vehicle on public roads.
11) Position may require CDL, applicant must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening test. As a safety sensitive employee, you will be subject to random substance abuse screening under company policy.
12) Works and honors commitments to participate as an effective member on team(s) i.e. specialty teams, PCP teams etc., to which assigned.
13) Accomplishes the Performance Improvement Objectives agreed upon at the previous Performance Evaluation.
