Job Summary
A College Advisor is responsible for working collaboratively with a team to provide direct college planning to students. College planning is delivered through individual student meetings using Class 101’s proven system. The best college advisor is self-motivated and dedicated to the needs of their clients. They will have a keenness and skill for working with adolescents and their families across wide-ranging perspectives and priorities.
Duties
- Teach in a group setting employing Class 101’s approved curriculum and using Class 101’s tools and resources.
- Serve as a reliable knowledge source for students and families
- Deliver effective meetings with student to educate and empower them on how to navigate the college process using the Class 101 curriculum, resources, materials, and timeline
- Communicate clearly and consistently with families
- Inspire students to stay on track as they progress through the college admissions process
- Gain expertise in all Class 101 curricula and our approach to helping students and families
- Deliver college planning services using the curriculum outlined in the Class 101 High School Manual
- Attend location events
- Attend team meetings
- Some college advisors will increase their client base through the delivery of family presentations to potential students and families. They will also meet and maintain monthly and quarterly sales goals.
Experience
- Proven experience in education administration or a related field is preferred.
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Experience in recruiting or mentoring students is highly desirable.
