Janitor and Cleaner

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with an emphasis on both industrial and commercial cleaning standards.

Duties

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors to maintain cleanliness.
• Buff and polish floors as needed to ensure a high standard of appearance.
• Conduct industrial cleaning in designated areas, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Manage custodial duties in both commercial and residential settings, ensuring all areas are well-maintained.
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or upkeep of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas by replenishing supplies and sanitizing surfaces.
• Execute porter duties by transporting items or materials as required throughout the facility.
• Carry out floor care responsibilities including stripping, waxing, and sealing floors to extend their lifespan.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.

Requirements

• Previous experience in custodial or janitorial roles is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques and equipment is advantageous.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals and equipment usage.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• A proactive attitude towards maintaining a clean and organized environment.
