What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder position at Classic Equine Equipment LLC?
Classic Equine Equipment, located among the rolling hills and horse farms of Southern Missouri, was founded in 1991 on a love for horses and a commitment to their ultimate care and safety. Though a lot has changed since then, our mission remains the same: To provide quality stall systems, barn components, and accessories to meet the needs of all horse owners.
The Welder welds metal parts together using specified wire welding processes. Performs related tasks such as flame cutting and grinding.

Essential Functions
- Uses MIG welder to assemble fabricated mild steel and aluminum products in an efficient manner to maximize production
- Operates the equipment in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment or its operators to the Safety Director or Maintenance Department
- Produces strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous and consistent
- Follows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly process
- Maintains/produces a level of output that will minimize production delays
- Cleans and maintains an orderly work area
- Communicates effectively with other workers to direct personal overflow
- Assists other individuals in area when needed
- Other duties as deemed necessary and requested by the Supervisor
- Implements all aspects of Lean Manufacturing
- Willing to be cross trained, learn new techniques, and continuously improve their skill sets
Required Education and Experience
- Knowledge of welding processes and equipment
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to weld vertical, flat and overhead welds with a good penetration and quality appearance
- Good communications skills relative to supervisor and other related departments
- Ability to hold final required cosmetic finish with angle grinders and sanders
- Math skills, including fractions and angles
- Ability to read tape measures and angle finders
- Ability to read blueprint drawings and cut lists
- Ability to operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenches
- Ability to pass a weld test given on-site during interview
Preferred Education and Experience
- Ability to operate a plasma cutter, carbon arc gouger and acetylene torches is desired
- Training in forklift operation desirable
