Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Project Manager to oversee and manage flooring installation and refinishing projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction project management with specific experience in hardwood flooring, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves working directly with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver exceptional service and results. Additionally, the Project Manager will be responsible for the training and development of new and existing team members to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination:
- Develop and manage detailed project plans for hardwood flooring installations and refinishing projects, including timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Coordinate with customers to assess their needs, provide estimates, and schedule site visits.
- Communicate project scope, goals, and expectations clearly to all stakeholders, including clients, team members, and subcontractors.
- Client Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing regular project updates.
- Build strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Conduct site assessments and provide professional recommendations for flooring options, design choices, and refinishing solutions.
- Team Supervision & Training:
- Oversee the scheduling and management of internal staff and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution.
- Develop and implement training programs for new hires and existing team members to ensure consistent high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
- Monitor team performance and provide ongoing training to improve skills, productivity, and safety awareness.

- Scheduling & Time Management:
- Coordinate project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of materials, scheduling of crews, and keeping clients informed of timelines.
- Ensure projects are completed within the designated time frame and any potential delays are mitigated.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and inspection reports.
- Generate progress reports for management and clients, ensuring all projects are tracked and deadlines are met.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, permits, and licensing requirements.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in the flooring, construction, or home improvement industry (specific experience with hardwood flooring installation and refinishing is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of hardwood flooring installation methods, materials, and finishing techniques.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience in training or mentoring team members to improve skills and maintain high standards of craftsmanship and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
