Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Garden Center Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who love working outdoors and have a strong interest in gardening and landscaping. The Garden Center Associate will assist customers with their gardening needs, provide expert advice on plant care, and maintain the garden center's cleanliness and inventory. This position requires excellent customer service skills and a keen eye for detail. You must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting plants, flowers, and gardening supplies based on their needs and preferences.
- Provide knowledgeable advice on plant care, landscape maintenance, and lawn care techniques.
- Maintain the garden center by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring all products are properly labeled.
- Create visually appealing floral arrangements and displays to enhance customer experience.
- Engage with customers to promote sales and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping experience.
- Monitor plant health and perform necessary maintenance tasks such as watering, pruning, and repotting.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both customers and staff.
Requirements
- Previous experience in sales or customer service is preferred.
- Knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and landscape maintenance is required.
- Skills in landscape design are a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- A passion for gardening and helping others create beautiful outdoor spaces.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
