Job Summary:
The Refrigeration Service Manager is responsible for the management and facilitation, administration, growth and profitability of the Refrigeration Services Location. The Refrigeration Services Location provides services, consisting of, but not limited to: Preventative maintenance and repair (or replacement) of commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment, pneumatic controls, DDC controls, electrical controls, pumps, refrigeration, air conditioning, softeners, minor piping and sheet metal repairs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Service personnel reporting to specific Locations
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work with and assist the service coordinator to identify, organize and coordinate all Refrigeration Services location workload, including scheduling and prioritizing of manpower and materials as required to meet committed completion schedules and profitability of work performed, based on the capabilities of available technicians.
- Recruit and hire capable field technicians.
- Manage the training effort for the Location Service Department.
- Develop and implement growth measures to increase the location's sales volume, including promoting and selling refrigeration service capabilities to customer facilities, preventative maintenance, and progressive time agreements.
- Prepare and assist with estimates for equipment, materials, projects, and services and develop proposals for presentation to customers.
- Review and manage ongoing job cost accounting to allow timely reviews of effectiveness and profitability of all work performed.
- Establish Service “On-Call” schedule and dispatching emergency service.
- Support Service Technicians needs and provide technical assistance as required.
- Review and approve all location personnel timesheets. Monitor field reports/tickets for accuracy.
- Coordinate inventories, including LOCAL refrigeration Services fleet rolling stock.
- Provide annual performance appraisals and salary reviews jointly with of all Location Personnel.
- Monitor the quality of the service provided through regular jobsite visits.
- Conduct post sale follow-ups with customers to ensure all sales agreements have been accomplished and customers are satisfied with all aspects of the transaction.
- Manage and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction and provide solutions for performance enhancement and proactive resolution of issues to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Become involved in industry trade associations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Management Team.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven working experience in Refrigeration Management
- Progressive experience in maintenance management
- Expert knowledge of commercial and industrial refrigeration service, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
- Competence in conflict and crisis management
- Excellent time and project management skills
Education and Experience:
- BS degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license with a clean/acceptable driving record.
- OSHA 30 - preferred
