Classic Remodeling & Construction, Inc. is a design-build remodeling firm located in Charleston, SC. We specialize exclusively in high-end, residential remodeling with projects ranging from kitchens and bathrooms to additions, whole house remodels, and outdoor spaces.
We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Lead Carpenter. The Lead Carpenter is responsible for producing remodeling projects on time and within budget. Our Lead Carpenters must be able to provide hands on production of the project from start to finish, read and interpret plans, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
As Lead Carpenter you will be responsible for:
- Providing hands-on production of the projects from start to finish. This includes, but is not limited to, demolition, foundation layout, framing and structure formation, siding and exterior trim, decks and porches, window and exterior door installation, interior millwork and doors, cabinet installation, hardware installation, appliance installation, and final detailing/cleanup.
- Reading and interpreting construction plans and product specifications.
- Serving as first point of contact for our Clients throughout the project, answering all questions and keeping the client informed of project status.
- Keeping projects on schedule and within budget.
- Managing carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors on your project to ensure work is performed correctly and Classic’s job-site policies are followed.
- Creating material take-offs and order in-stock materials in a timely fashion. Receive and verify all deliveries.
- Ensuring job-site is kept to Classic’s standards at all times. This includes but is not limited to maintaining adequate dust protection, covering and protecting all existing finishes, providing weathertight protection throughout structure formation phases, making sure materials are stacked neatly in a designated area, broom-cleaning site daily, and locking and securing premises at the end of each da

Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years carpentry experience, including knowledge of all phases of residential remodeling and construction.
- Extensive rough carpentry experience including layout of foundations, rafters and stairs
- Extensive finish carpentry experience including trim, cabinetry installation, and interior finishes
- Good working knowledge of all related building trades
