Role Overview

As a Group Sales Specialist at Classic Vacations, you will play a key role in driving revenue by engaging with clients looking to book group travel (5 or more rooms) at our luxury hotel partners. Your responsibilities include converting leads into confirmed sales, negotiating contracts, and ensuring a seamless process for our clients. You’ll be a critical part of a high-energy, results-driven team, working directly with customers from initial inquiry through to contract execution.

Your work will lay the foundation for Classic Vacations' continued growth, and your success in this role is key to the expansion of our luxury travel offerings.

Key Responsibilities

In alignment with Classic’s commitment to building a cohesive and high-performing team, your responsibilities will include :

  • Sales Goals & KPIs : Meet and exceed established sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for group travel bookings.
  • Lead Qualification & Conversion : Qualify and close inbound leads for group travel, primarily through phone and email communication.
  • Proposal & Contract Management : Input group lead data into Group Manager, including proposal and contract preparation. Ensure all information is accurate and comprehensive.
  • Negotiation & Customer Satisfaction : Actively negotiate with clients to ensure they are satisfied with the terms and services offered. Serve as the primary point of contact for all proposal / contract negotiations.
  • Contract Execution : Facilitate the signing of contracts, ensuring timely receipt of deposits, and transfer completed files to the Group Coordinator once signed.
  • Customer Correspondence : Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients from initial inquiry through contract finalization.
  • Internal Collaboration : Work closely with the Group Supervisor and other team members to manage leads, updates, and expectations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience : Minimum of 2 years in group travel sales, specifically in contracting groups (hotel & airline experience preferred).
  • Skills :
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong follow-up abilities to ensure timely responses and actions.
  • Proficient in negotiation, particularly with business clients and travel partners.
  • Expertise in Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet-based systems.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Additional Attributes :
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with efficiency and precision.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, particularly identifying and addressing discrepancies in systems or processes.
  • A positive attitude, work ethic, and a strong sense of team commitment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments.
  • Employment Terms & Benefits :

  • Position Type : Hourly, with the opportunity to earn performance-based incentives.
  • Benefits : Comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare options, paid time off, and more
  • Work Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours per week, with virtual office work.
  • Compensation : $17 Bonus (DOE) Competitive hourly rate plus incentives based on performance.
  • Travel : Flexibility to travel as needed.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to perform essential job functions while working at a computer for extended periods.
