Position Description
Classical School of Wichita is seeking a Head of School for 2025-2026. CSW is in its 19th year as a K-12 school and currently has 465 students. We are accredited with the Association of Classical Christian Schools and the Society of Classical Learning. We are looking for our next head of school to lead our next stage of development. Spiritual Leadership
A mature and dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ who is an active member of a local church.
A servant leader steeped in moral purpose, integrity, and conviction who operates with high levels of emotional intelligence, patience, and respect for others.
Qualifications of HOS (Bylaws Section 6.2)
Manifest a Christ-like character consistent with the attributes described in 1 Timothy 3
Subscribe to the Association’s General Statement of Faith (ACCS Statement of Faith)
An active member in good standing of a church whose statement of Faith and / or Confession is not inconsistent with one of the following Reformed Confessions : Westminster Confession, London Baptist Confession, or Belgic Confession.
Must personally align (with minimal and / or insignificant equivocations) with one of the previously referenced Confessions.
Visionary Leader and Communicator
A highly relational and trustworthy leader and team-builder who can initiate and grow fruitful relationships with and among individuals across all CSW constituencies (students, parents, faculty, board, donors, church leaders, stakeholders, and community leaders).
A motivational, collaborative, and supportive leader who sets consistently high (ambitious, yet attainable) expectations and relentlessly pursues a distinctly biblical and Christ-centered school culture, including a faculty growth and development culture that regularly assesses, holds accountable, and consistently delivers student outcomes aligned with CSW’s vision and each student’s God-given potential.
A proactive and winsome communicator (both written and verbal).
Capacity to develop productive relationships with donors and community leaders to ensure the resources for the mission of CSW.
A strategic thinker and contemplative problem solver who can proactively identify key issues, weigh alternatives, and make (or, when appropriate, recommend) thoughtful, timely, and wise decisions.
A leader who is able to see and design the ‘big picture’ while also being able to operate effectively in the day-to-day details.
Steeped in Mission and Vision of Classical Education
An individual with a deep and abiding interest in classical education, dedicated to and highly knowledgeable of the vision, mission, goals, and philosophies of classical, Christian education generally and CSW specifically.
A humble and committed lifelong learner who models personal and professional learning and growth in their own life and who actively promotes lifelong learning and growth in the lives of students, faculty, and staff.
