The Lead Sales and Marketing Editor ensures the accuracy of content and communications in all methods and for both internal and external audiences. They are the primary reviewer for the Sales and Marketing Teams and other corporate content for accuracy and quality, and they rewrite copy for easy reader understanding. Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to educating writers on best practices in writing, collaborating with other department editors on the Classical Conversations style guide, and maintaining the content calendar for our corporate communications.

Pay Rate: $43,000 - $48,000
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: Remote (anywhere in the U.S.)
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in journalism, English, communication, or equivalent field
- 2-4 years experience preferred in journalism, corporate communications, magazine or book editing, or publishing
- Strong proofreading, editing, and writing skills
- Experience with content management systems preferred, such as Hubspot
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Thorough understanding of grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules, both Chicago and AP style
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to verify facts using personal knowledge and standard research practices
- Experience adhering to editorial and technical style guides
- Exceptional ability to clearly communicate a message via multiple mediums
- Ability to establish priorities based on direction from the Manager or assigned task
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and other related applications/programs
- Ability to travel approximately five days a year for collaboration needs and for continuing education
- Possesses professionalism and is willing to attend and actively engage (camera on) in remote meetings
- Aptitude to work remotely with diligence
Essential Functions
- Proofread, edit, and review external communications to customers and families
- Evaluate internal communications to applicable audiences
- Assess communication materials to ensure consistency and timely delivery through all avenues
- Assist in the production of company communications from copy editing through publication
- Coordinate with all departments for communication content
- Willingness to work in a variety of media, using different applications for communication needs
- Communicate and model the Classical Conversations Core Values – Grace, Humility, Integrity, Diligence, and Excellence
- Perform other duties as assigned
