This position qualifies for a hire on bonus of $5000 with 1/2 paid with 1st check after hire and 1/2 paid with 1st check following 6-month probationary period.
Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare has moved most positions to a 4 day 9 hour work week with paid 30 minute lunches to promote a better work life balance. Wages have also been increased for our valued current and future employees.
Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare has an immediate opening for a Community Support Services Clinician. This position will perform a variety of services at our Open Door location, which serves individuals in the community with severe and persistent mental illness. position performs Mental Health Assessments, Assessment Updates, and Individual Service Plans in keeping with agency standards. Providing short-term individual and group counseling and therapy to assigned caseload that may vary in size. The Community Support Services Clinician may initiate treatment plans, provide case management and care coordination, and is a community liaison.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment interviews for all new and returning clients to obtain comprehensive information regarding presenting problems. This includes the ability to conclude and assign diagnoses. Assessments may be for respite, residential or outpatient services placement.
- Assist the client in developing a meaningful Treatment Plan and provided services tied to the Treatment Plan.
- Conduct Mental Status Examinations and make appropriate treatment recommendations and referrals.
- Help identify client’s natural support system and be able to work within that system as appropriate to facilitate clients’ recovery.
- Be knowledgeable of community resources, refer and facilitate clients’ accessing of these supports.
- Provide case management services as needed to assigned caseload.
- Provide group and individual counseling in keeping with Evidence-based Practices.
- Provide backup crisis response upon request by supervisor.
- Provides outreach services as appropriate.
- Consult and coordinate services with other community partners such as: Developmental Disabilities, Substance Abuse, Primary Care Physicians, DHS, Senior & Disability Services, Courts, Community Action and Schools.
- Responsible for obtaining Releases of Information to be able to consult and coordinate with other community agencies.
- Participate in regular team and agency meetings.
- Complete and maintain all clinical documents and client files according to compliance standards with the State of Oregon Administrative Rules and standards established at CBH.
- Maintain productivity in keeping with agency expectations and standards, including timely discharge and termination of clients.
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of the profession.
- Participate in Investigations, Court hearings, and other legal proceedings as directed by agency and/or subpoenaed and maintain the required documentation for the same.
- Remain flexible to the changing demands of a mental health system and the needs of the agency.
- All CBH staff are mandatory abuse reporters per the State of Oregon.
- Report critical incidents or alleged client abuses to the CBH Abuse Investigator or outside agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences from an accredited university or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with an RN is required.
- Required to have and maintain an Oregon or Washington Driver's license and meet the agency's insurance carrier's insurance standards at the time of hire
Preferred:
- At least 3 years of outpatient clinical experience working with the mentally ill.
