In this full-time role, you will report directly to the Administrator and be responsible for the ethical and professional delivery of health and wellness services to our residents. This position also entails the coordination of employee educational requirements in compliance with State and Federal licensure standards for Assisted Living.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver assisted living care while working a 40-hour week, including shared on-call responsibilities for emergencies and staff consultations.
- Participate in the formulation and execution of facility policies impacting healthcare services.
- Delegate appropriate nursing tasks in accordance with Oregon State Board of Nursing regulations.
- Ensure the administration of medications and treatments aligns with physician orders and coordinate the medication delivery system.
- Collaborate with the Consultant Pharmacist and facilitate the implementation of recommended actions.
- Oversee quality assurance programs for resident healthcare services in conjunction with the Resident Services Coordinator (RSC).
- Involve yourself in staff hiring, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Review and ensure compliance with residents’ individual service plans, particularly during significant changes in conditions.
- Conduct admission assessments to confirm appropriate resident placements.
- Maintain comprehensive oversight of medication errors and ensure staff education on this matter, as needed.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse in Oregon.
- Strong ethical judgment and a high standard of professionalism.
- Patience and compassion in working with elderly individuals and those with limited self-care capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage and supervise staff effectively.
- A strong inclination towards teaching and assisting others in skill development.
- Capacity to learn and apply new theories, techniques, and principles.
- Proficient decision-making ability.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing education program.
- A minimum of one year of experience in an extended care or assisted living facility is preferred.
- Good mental and physical health, alongside a sincere desire to work with the aged and those with special care needs.
