Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary clinic. Your knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal care will be essential in assisting clients and supporting our veterinary staff.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, pet care, and clinic policies.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date.
  • Process payments and handle medical collection tasks as needed.
  • Assist with basic animal husbandry tasks when required.
  • Provide clients with information on pet health, nutrition, and preventive care.
  • Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a veterinary setting or animal care environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and basic medical procedures is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to empathize with pet owners during stressful situations.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems for scheduling and record keeping.
  • A passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
