North Country Orthopaedic Group-Surgery Unit-Surgery Unit Coordinator- Full Time – Day Shift- 8-hour shift between 7a-3:30p -Req.# 8099
Pay Range: $17.97-$22.92*
The Surgery Unit Coordinator, under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, will act as the initial point of contact for all surgery patients. Responsible for screening and directing inquiries within the department, coordinating communication, and assuming the responsibilities for the clerical process.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma required.

Associates in secretarial science or related field preferred

Exhibits maturity confidence in communication skills.

Knowledge of medical and orthopaedic terminology.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Strong organizational skills
Essential Job Duties:

Pre-register all patients prior to the date of surgery.

Verifies referral status.
-
Assembles patient charts pre- and post- operatively.

Enters and retrieves patient data via computer.

Schedules surgery schedules when needed.

Files and retrieves patient charts.

Handles incoming and outgoing phone communications.

Coordinates and prepares the surgery schedule for the following day.

Order office supplies.

Complies with statistical data when requested.

Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
