SUMMARY: Audiologists diagnose a patients hearing and balance problems, using advanced technology and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Determines type and degree of hearing impairment. Performs Speech Reception Testing and Word Discrimination Testing; interprets audiometric diagnostic data; prepares written diagnostic reports according to Veteran Administration approved criteria. Provides treatments by cleaning ear canal (if possible) Uploads and submit claimant reports no later than 24-hours after claimant visit. Improves the quality of reports by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes. Provides patient health assessment evaluations for current reservists and the railroad readiness program. Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock; anticipating needs; and reports supplies needed to the office manager for ordering Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, and professional standards. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- The doctoral degree in audiology (Au.D.) required
- 2-4 years experience in Audiology role. preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office/clinic environment, with frequent exposure to electronic and medical office equipment.
