Clay Cooley Auto Group is seeking experienced, self-motivated, and reliable Automotive Senior Accountants for our dealerships. These individuals must possess strong technical proficiency in automotive accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform mathematical computations accurately and promptly.
The Automotive Senior Accountant must be aware of the importance of details, understand and rectify errors in the dealerships' data and reports. It is essential to comprehend the significance of deadlines and the ability to apply the appropriate level of urgency to all tasks.
Oversees ownership of tasks and schedules for multiple dealerships including but not limited to:
- Post funding daily and review/correct discrepancies for contracts in transit (CIT) and finance reserves
- Communicate with the dealerships' finance departments and sales management regarding outstanding CIT items and finance reserve adjustments
- Payoff floorplan balances on sold vehicles and add acquired vehicles to floorplan lines according to lender guidelines. Prepare daily cash usage reports
- Post miscellaneous vehicle factory invoices and reconcile vehicle factory receivable/payable accounts monthly
- Review and adjust rebate and incentive receivable accounts
- Review and report special inventory tax and sales tax to the county/state
- Take ownership of the following schedules: CIT, finance reserves, rebates and incentives
- Have urgency in investigating, communicating, and correcting issues as they arise
Employee Prerequisites:
- High School Diploma; College Degree a plus
- 3-5 years dealership accounting experience and extensive knowledge of automotive accounting duties
- Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office and dealership software experience is a must; Tekion experience a plus
- Competency to manage in a high-volume call/email environment and aptitude to transition from one task to another effectively and concisely.
- Ability to perform well both individually and as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule to work full-time with various extended hours during accounting cutoffs.
