Marketing / Operations Director - Purpose Description
Position Summary
The purpose of this role is to foster a collaborative relationship with all current and future stakeholders to ensure Clay County remains a great place to live, work, and play. By encouraging industry leaders to relocate, reinvest, and/or remain in our community, our Marketing & Operations Director is directly responsible for establishing meaningful relationships, implementing strategic marketing initiatives, and establishing operational efficiencies. This position is responsible for: overseeing the creation, implementation and distribution of internal and external marketing for the organization via the web, social media channels and personal engagement; organizing all aspects of four annual luncheons/workshop events for 150 attendees; engaging with Board members and investors; managing office operations and office accounting; preparing and managing State grant submissions to expand economic development opportunities within Clay county; preparing a monthly newsletter for investors; and supporting the President as needed. This position is highly visible to the general public, community organizations, outside agencies, important investor/business partners, and governmental departments. Therefore, our Marketing & Operations Director must always maintain a high level of integrity, reinforce and support management/Board decisions, present a professional image with high energy communication, and continuously display passion for enhancing the quality of life for our Clay County community. This position will report directly to the President and is an essential position that requires minimal supervision.
Marketing:
- External – Website Management, White Papers, Presentations, Promo Items, Digital & Print Advertising, Social Media Updates, Photography, Reports, Video Production, Branding Strategies, Earned Media, Strategic Messaging Strategies, Data Collection, Blogs, and Communications,
- Internal – Promotion of Events, Stakeholder Packages, Board Member Support
- Business Development – Identify Potential Investor Partners, Cultivate Relationships, Foster Engagement
- Collaborating with JAXUSA Partnership on Marketing, Research and Talent Development initiatives.
Operational:
- Budget – Forecasting, Modifications, Recommendations, Reports
- Accounting Support for Bookkeeper – Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Audit Support
- HR Support – Payroll, Records, Resources, Supervision
- Consultants/Vendors Management – Accountant, Technology, Photographer, Videographer, Promo Items, Media Contacts, Caterer(s), Facilities
- Grant(s) Application/Administration – Identify, Submit, Manage, and Reporting
- Data Collection –Managing GIS Analysis Application, Maintaining Multiple Databases and Resources, Identifying Trends and Opportunities, Maintaining General Knowledge of Local Activities and Development, Government Affairs, Data to Support Recruitment Projects
- General Office Management – Supplies, Tenant/Landlord relations, Equipment, Purchasing, Payroll, Insurance
Business Retention and Expansion:
- Workforce Development Engagement - Meetings with CTE, SJRSC, and Strategic Partners for Program Alignment to Support Existing Businesses and Target Industries
- CareerSource Industry Surveys with Salesforce required data
- Business Retention Expansion to Advocate, Engage and provide Resources to existing industries
Governance:
- Support President and Board Chair – Agenda Preparation for Board meeting, Scheduling, Minutes and Record Keeping, Meeting Coordination
Proficiency Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Proficient in virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Teams, Webex, etc.
- Proficient in Adobe Suite - specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
- Proficient in or able to learn Salesforce, Dropbox, or other programs as needed.
- BA/BS degree, with preferable focus in Communications, Marketing, Operations, Business or equivalent work experience. Incumbent may substitute two years’ work experience per year of formal education required.

Position provides 2 weeks PTO initially. Standard US holidays observed.

Preference given to candidates within 45 minutes of Clay County office location.
Salary range based on experience and proven abilities. ($75,000 - $85,000)
