Position Overview:
Clay Center Family Physicians is looking for a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team in a combined role encompassing Preventive Care Coordination, Referrals Management, and Patient Registration. This position blends clinical, administrative, and preventive care responsibilities, with a focus on enhancing the health of our community. The ideal candidate will assist in managing patient appointments, support the clinical team, facilitate specialist referrals, and assist in the coordination of preventive care efforts, including annual visits, screenings, and exams.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Registration Clerk Duties:
- Answer incoming calls and manage messages.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently and accurately.
- Assist with various office tasks, including organizing documentation and coordinating with healthcare staff to ensure smooth patient care.
- Verify patient insurance details, ensuring coverage is accurate and valid; follow up with patients or insurance providers as needed.
Preventive Care Duties:
- Assist in identifying patients due for annual visits, screenings, and preventive care services.
- Facilitate the scheduling of preventive exams such as mammograms, colonoscopies, and routine screenings.
- Review patient charts to ensure recommended preventive care is completed.
- Stay informed about the latest preventive health recommendations.
Referrals Management:
- Process incoming referrals from healthcare providers, ensuring all required information is complete.
- Track referral status, following up on outstanding referrals to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborate with other administrative or clinical staff to address and resolve referrals efficiently.
- Provide general administrative support to the team, including managing office supplies, answering phones, and preparing correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Strong office skills and proficiency with computers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly detail-oriented, focused on accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain confidentiality.
- Previous healthcare experience is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
