Starting Salary $28.06 hourly
Responsible for observing inmate/offender/detainee behavior patterns; screening inmate medical requests; responding to medical emergencies; performing triage; reporting infectious diseases to appropriate agencies/departments. Incumbent must also take vital signs, administer medications, inventory SHARPS; and manage chronic medical problems. Duties also include completing, updating, and submitting required reports/documents/forms.Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

Incumbent must also take vital signs, administer medications, inventory SHARPS; and manage chronic medical problems. Duties also include completing, updating, and submitting required reports/documents/forms.Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the medical needs of inmates
- Dispense appropriate medication as directed
- Assist with medical assessments
- Additional duties as required
- Must be at least 18 years old;
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent;
- Must have a current Florida LPN license and CPR card;
- Must pass an extensive background investigation including polygraph and drug test;
- Read, speak, and understand the English language;
- 12 hour shift schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Internal candidates must have successfully completed their probationary period
- Internal candidates with punitive disciplinary action within 365 days are ineligible
- Driver's License
- Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Form DD214 for all periods served in the military
- GED or High School Diploma and Sealed Transcripts from the highest level of education
- FDLE Authority for Release
