Description
The Unlicensed Social Worker provides support to incarcerated individuals to address their social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The position involves assisting in case management, facilitating programs, conducting assessments, and supporting rehabilitation efforts under the supervision of the Medical Services Manager or designated supervisor.
Duties
- Assist in the development and implementation of case plans for incarcerated individuals.
- Provide guidance and support to individuals navigating personal, social, or environmental challenges.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
- Conduct preliminary assessments to identify social, emotional, or mental health needs.
- Collect and organize relevant data to assist licensed social workers or clinicians.
- Assist in facilitating group sessions, workshops, or classes on topics such as anger management, substance abuse, and reentry preparation.
- Support evidence-based programming tailored to the population's needs.
- Advocate for individuals' needs within the facility and coordinate referrals to internal or external services.
- Help connect individuals with resources related to housing, employment, and education post-release.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including corrections staff, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
- Ensure all activities comply with facility policies, state regulations, and ethical guidelines.
- Respond to crises, providing de-escalation and emotional support as needed.
- Report significant incidents to supervisors and document interventions accurately.
- Maintain detailed records of all interactions, services provided, and progress towards goals.
- Prepare reports for supervisors when required.

Retirement Plans
The Sheriff's Office participates in the Florida Retirement System. Employees have a choice from two plans under the FRS : Pension Plan and Investment Plan. The Sheriff's Office makes a contribution as set by the Florida legislature towards the plan of choice for each employee and the employee makes a contribution of 3%. Deferred Compensation Plans
