What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Juvenile Officer / Probation position at Clay County?
Clay County Missouri has an opportunity in a professional entry-level position working in the enforcement and administration of the Missouri Juvenile System at the R. Kenneth Elliott Children's Justice Center. The Deputy Juvenile Officer – Probation will respond to on-call or daily referrals made by law enforcement agencies, schools, parent/guardian, Department of Social Services or the public. They will also conduct some field investigations, interviews of witnesses and victims working with attorneys to adjudicate contested cases before the Juvenile Court, along with other assignments. We are looking for someone licensed and insured to drive in the state of Missouri, can maintain a calm composure through emotionally charged public interactions, and maintain appropriate working relationships with all involved in the process.
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration, criminology, psychology, sociology, social work or related field, be able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, and able to attend training out of the County, including overnight trips.
The employee will receive an hourly salary of $19.70 - $22.11 with a benefits package that includes a defined benefit retirement plan fully funded by the Count. We also offer three medical plans including two high deductible plans, dental, vision, two flexible spending accounts, and supplemental plans. Full-time employees are also offered life insurance (2X annual salary) paid by the County, paid vacation/sick leave, 14 paid holidays, LTD and tuition reimbursement.
Salary : $20 - $22
