Under the direction of the Project Director, the Administrative Assistant supports the Community Paramedicine Program by performing regular administrative functions, gathering and compiling program data, and generating clear, concise reports. Maintains program calendar for the County’s Opioid Overdose Prevention Program, creates and reproduces training materials and communications, and assists with procurement of program resources. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs administrative functions, including answering telephones/electronic mail, scheduling meetings, compiling and analyzing data and statistics, and creating and reproducing program reports and summaries for a variety of constituents.
- Completes requisitions and orders program supplies as necessary via County policies and procedures.
- Maintains the calendars of all program staff.
- Works with EMS and Quality Assurance Committee for review of daily overdose reports to assure proper information is obtained for statistical analysis as well as review of treatment by field units.
- Maintains calendar of Naloxone training sessions and compiles monthly reports on attendance data.
- Supports the Naloxone Coordinator with tasks to prepare for training and distribution events.
- May assist with facilitating outreach or distribution events to promote the Community Paramedicine Program.
- Provides administrative support to program staff as needed.
- Assists the Naloxone Coordinator with Narcan inventory.
- Maintains program equipment and supply inventory.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid Florida driver’s license with clean driving record
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Associate’s Degree in business administration or closely-related field (Preferred)
- Two years of administrative experience, including experience maintaining data and generating reports
- Any combination of education and experience may be substituted, so long as it provides the desired skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Supplemental Information:
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Must be able to perceive, inspect, and assess community overdose and program data and to generate clear and concise reports for a variety of stakeholders.
Must be able to operate a County vehicle. Local travel in a county vehicle is required (25%).
This position constantly communicates with supervisor and other staff to support the community paramedicine program.
Must be able to accurately exchange information in these situations. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with the Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Must be able to move up to 25 pounds in all directions, occasionally may move weight including that of the human body, during medical emergencies and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
The worker operates in an indoor office environment risking exposure to dust. The employee also operates outdoors occasionally and for travel to community events where the worker may be exposed to inclement weather, extreme temperatures and excessive humidity. The employee may be exposed to pollution, fumes and airborne particles. Employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and other bodily fluids and medical waste.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
