Lean Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role:

The Lean Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role in optimizing production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste within the organization. This position focuses on implementing lean principles and methodologies to streamline operations, ultimately leading to improved product quality and customer satisfaction. The engineer will analyze current manufacturing practices, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to implement changes effectively. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure that lean initiatives are integrated seamlessly into daily operations. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in lean manufacturing or process improvement roles (Injection Molding experience preferred).
• Deep knowledge of Lean principles (Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, etc.) and proficiency in Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, DMADV).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Ability to use statistical tools to measure and improve process quality (SPC, process control charts, etc.).
• Ability to identify the root causes of problems and implement corrective actions.
• Ability to define and monitor performance indicators (KPIs) to track process improvements.
• Expertise in leading and managing change within organizations, ensuring smooth transitions during process improvements.
• Proficiency in office automation tools for creating graphs, diagrams and logic diagrams (Visio), tables (Excel) and presentations (PowerPoint).
• Professional command of English: read, written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Lean Six Sigma certification (greenbelt or blackbelt).
• Experience with project management methodologies.
• Familiarity with manufacturing software and tools.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough assessments of current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies, including value stream mapping, 5S, and Kaizen events.
• Collaborate with production teams to train and mentor staff on lean principles and best practices.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of lean initiatives.
• Facilitate continuous improvement projects and report on progress to management.
