Accounting Clerk II Position Summary:
In general, this position is responsible for reconciliation of multiple bank accounts, using manual and automated matching routines for accounts with a high volume of transactions; have ability to keep management informed of the status of account reconciliations and related unresolved issues. This position will also be heavily involved in the enhancement of the bank reconciliation process as we continue to grow and transition to Oracle.
Accounting Clerk II Primary Functions:
- Performs and Reviews bank reconciliations and resolves issues promptly
- Monitors bank account activity
- Works closely with Retail Cash Desk, Financial Accounting, and Accounts Payable departments to identify reconciling items
- Participates in various accounting and cash management projects as needed
- Lead in building process and writing automation rules for new Cash Bank reconciliation process in Oracle
- Investigates processes and completes system documentation, policy reviews and audit reports with recommendation.
- Processes external audit requests pertaining to assigned Bank Accounts.
- Lead in building process and writing automation rules for new Cash Bank reconciliation process in Oracle.
- Monitors bank account activity.
- Closes bank accounts where required.
- Reviews bank reconciliations within Oracle and resolves issues promptly.
- Acts as point of contact for fraudulent activity on bank accounts.
- Participates in various accounting and cash management projects as needed.
- Works closely with Retail Cash Desk, Financial Accounting, and Accounts Payable departments to identify reconciling items.
- Other duties as assigned.
Accounting Clerk II Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
- Strong Excel skills, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Must be detail-oriented, able to prioritize, self-motivated, dependable, and able to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Basic accounting knowledge preferred
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of contacts
