Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator
Reports to: EHS Manager

Position Summary:
The EHS Coordinator is accountable for supporting the EHS Environmental functions of the facility with a primary responsibility of managing the ISO program. Assists with implementing and ensuring EHS compliance with local, state, and federal safety/environmental regulations while supporting required training for safety and environmental programs. Works directly with the EHS Manager and assists in the implementation of safety and ISO initiatives, training, programs, medical case management, incident investigation, hazard identification and mitigation. Takes an active role in the EMS committee while supporting the facilities Safety Committees.
Duties / Responsibilities:
ISO Duties:
o Work with the team to develop environmental procedures.
o Schedule EMS Committee target and objective team meetings
o Schedule and participate with the EHS Manager in conducting internal audits, management reviews, and third-party audits.
o Track required data to graph and monitor trends that are related to ISO objectives and targets.
o Create and update ISO communication media.
o Schedule, track, and conduct EMS training as needed.
o Implement and train team on waste segregation, to include coordinating universal and hazardous waste disposal.
o Maintain environmental compliance events/audits in EiOS.
o Maintain all updates in EiOS, provide document control, file IAW ISO requirements in EiOS.
o Maintain environmental objective projects in EiOS.
o Work with EMS teams to develop preventative actions and maintain continuous improvement log.
o Ensure regulatory compliance of all local, state, and federal laws and submit required data to third party for processing of regulatory reports.
o Develop relationships in the local community to further environmental awareness and change.
o Communicate with waste management and disposal vendors to coordinate pickup and disposal of waste. Additionally, communicate with chemical vendors as needed to verify VOCs.
o In conjunction with the EHS Manager, lead the cultural change to become more environmentally friendly at home and at work.
o Responsible for overall administration of plant ISO procedures and documentation
EHS Duties:
o Administer basic first aid to Team Members as needed.
o Transport and accompany injured Team Members to medical facilities when needed.
o Participate in the incident investigation process with the EHS Manager and line supervisors.
o Perform Hazard Walks of the facility, identify hazards and non-conformances, and follow-up on corrective actions until closed.
o Enforce EHS policies and educate team members on best practices and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
o Promote a positive EHS culture and take part in promoting EHS initiatives.
o Participate in third party audits/inspections with the EHS Manager
o Assist the EHS Manager as needed with data entry and EHS analytics.
o Actively participate in the Facility Safety Committee meetings
o Conduct New Hire Orientation for new hires as needed.
o Help create, schedule, and execute annual EHS training.
Training:
o Must participate in on- and off-site training activities as requested by/through the General Manager and/or Home Office Director of EHS
o Continually seek personal and professional improvement through reading and participating in external environmental, health, and safety training courses
o Lead by example, adhere to all environmental, health, and safety requirements, and strive to become a subject-matter-expert in these requirements.

o Stand in for and represent the EHS Manager as needed during those times the EHS Manager is out of the office.

Qualifications:
o High school diploma or equivalent required
o A.S. degree in health & safety or environmental is a plus.
o OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) 10 or 30 for general/construction industry is a plus.
o Basic knowledge of ISO 14001 is a plus.
o Self-motivated and self-starting
o Ability to work independently on projects with minimal oversight or guidance.
o Analytical Thinker and problem solver
o Desire to learn and improve new and existing skills.
o Strong organization and time-management skills
o Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
o Understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations is a plus.
o Good people/communication skills and the ability to follow-up and hold people accountable.
o Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
o CPR and First Aide certification is a plus.
o Experience in work comp claims is a plus.
