POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will work primarily to bring knowledge of artistic and creative concepts to students in their learning environment. It will help students understand the artistic concepts in various types of visual communication, possibly including, but not limited to drawing, painting, ceramics and/or design. This position reports to the Principal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructs students, using various teaching methods, such as lecture, audiovisual aids, demonstration and other materials to supplement presentations relative to specific content field.
Assigns lessons and corrects homework; administers tests to evaluate students’ progress, record results and issue reports to inform parents of progress. Maintains discipline in classroom. Supervises behavior outside the classroom (i.e., halls, bus, lunch/cafeteria, rest room duty).
Prepares course outlines and objectives according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
Conducts parent/teacher conferences to review student’s progress, performance, and behavior problems. Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops.
All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.
Makes recommendations and/or decisions which usually affect the entire school.
Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 as required by the GaPSC.

Normal classroom/school setting.
Must be able to stand and walk approximately seven (7) to seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying; twenty (20) lbs. or less.
