POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides leadership in the integration of technology within the district academic achievement plan by designing, developing, implementing, supervising, and coordinating initiatives to promote the use of technology and digital learning in all content areas for students, teachers and administrator. Plans with, monitors, and evaluates the Coordinators of Instructional Technology. This position reports the Chief Technology Officer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with academic coordinators and technical support teams on instructional technology goals. Leads Digital Learning Specialists to determine the appropriate technological tools for student learning, including district-purchased software solutions. Facilitates implementation of Digital Learning initiatives aligned with District academic achievement plan.
Researches new and innovative instructional design, technology practices, and leading-edge delivery strategies to increase level of student engagement, adaptability, usability, and prescriptive learning. Evaluates and recommends instructional technology purchases and solutions. Assists with planning and management of technology budget for Instructional Technology resources.
Coordinates instructional technology-related Professional Development, including collaboration, design, and delivery to support District/school’s needs.
Participates in trainings and attends conferences to maintain a high level of expertise in new technologies and instructional strategies. Updates staff on current educational research, projects, technology, and solutions for the improvement of instruction.
Provides training in the use of instructional technology to support the district academic achievement plan. Conducts surveys and collects data to assess the impact of technology on teaching and learning, in order to support decisions related to instructional technology.
All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in educational related field required.
Master’s degree in Instructional Technology or related field preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of coordinating and implementing a K-12 public school District-wide plan for instructional technology that supports academic achievement and leadership experience in a K-12 environment required.
Position has primary responsibility for the application operations and support of the District’s instructional technology, impacting all Instruction functions.
GaPSC certification at Level 4 or higher in core content, media/technology, instructional technology, or educational leadership required. Valid driver’s license required.
High level of judgement: Supervisor is available on limited basis to review established departmental and/or organizational objectives; independent judgment is required to review and approve major recommendations.
Requires regular contact with internal personnel of importance and influence. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Responsible for providing supervision and the ability to manage several technology projects at one time.
Applies, recommends, and implements highly advanced technology concepts and methodologies to include Learning Management Systems, (Canvas), Social Media, Interactive Boards and Student Response devices and Tablets, Interactive Flat Panels, and Chromebooks.
Responsibility for the Welfare of Others: Constantly (Daily)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office setting. Requires frequent travel to off-site training locations and school site visits.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Intermittent walking is required. Light lifting or carrying; twenty (20) lbs. or less
NOTE: This is a grade 32, 225-day position that pays for experience up to a Step 8.
Salary : $92,817 - $114,155
