POSITION SUMMARY:
Oversees the benefit issuance process for the School Nutrition Program to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Guidelines. Completes day-to-day payroll processes for the Nutrition Central Office Staff and monitors school-level payroll and time sheets for accurate reporting. Utilizes meals per labor hour formula to determine school-level staffing needs and supports the department’s hiring process.
This position reports to the School Nutrition Assistant Director
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of current Federal, State, and Local Child Nutrition Regulations and establishes standard operating procedures to ensure compliance. Identifies students who are eligible for nutrition benefits through state and local databases Ensures accuracy of benefit issuance by conducting internal audits of all processes utilized Hires, trains, and supports temporary clerical support staff. Liaises with other departments within the school district to report School Nutrition data and update School Nutrition student databases. Provides technical assistance to other personnel regarding the eligibility guidance. Implements all aspects of the verification process. Attends Federal, State, and Local trainings, conferences, and meetings pertinent to benefit issuance. Maintains payroll data for Nutrition Central Office. Verifies school-level payroll information. Obtains and distributes payroll checks. Processes departmental expense reports. Prepares staffing reports for school sites. Facilitates departmental hiring processing to include posting vacancies, scheduling job fairs, applicant screening and processing for hire. Performs other duties as assigned by supervising administrators
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED with four years of school food service experience; Associate’s degree in a specific field (food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts business or related field); or Bachelor’s degree in any academic major with two years of relevant school nutrition experience; or holds a Bachelor’s degree with any academic major and a school nutrition director certification issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission
NOTE: This is a grade 23, 225 day position that pays for experience up to a Step 4.
Salary : $45,125 - $70,331
