Clayton Services is searching for a Sourcing Specialist to join a thriving company in Southeast Houston. The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for identifying alternative suppliers outside of China, Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Job Type: Temporary/Contract
Pay Rate: $35.00-$50.00/hour
Sourcing Specialist Responsibilities:
- Manage supplies relationships
- Execute cost-saving initiatives
- Ensure the timely procurement of materials to support manufacturing
- Analyze market trends, identify alternative supplies, and negotiate contracts to optimize cost, quality, and lead time
- Issue purchase orders, track shipments, and follow up on deliveries to support production schedules
- Support new product development by coordinating sourcing activities, tracking sample requests, and ensuring materials are delivered on time.
- Conduct supplier negotiations
- Analyze supplier performance data, assess risks, and recommend sourcing strategies.
- Oversee supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance management to ensure compliance with company policies
- Collaborate with the internal team to resolve supply chain disruptions, enhance sourcing processes, and optimize operational efficiency.
- Maintain sourcing documentation, including supplier agreements, pricing records, and performance reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to align sourcing activities with business objectives
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed to visit suppliers, conduct audits, and support business objectives.

Sourcing Specialist Education and Experience:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field is preferred
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain is required
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to source and find new suppliers are required
- Previous experience working with suppliers outside of China, Canada, Mexico, and the United States is required
