What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pilot position at Clean Harbors Environmental Services Inc.?

The Pilot is responsible for the safe, economical, consistent, and legal operation of Company aircraft, including complying with all applicable federal regulations as well as Clean Harbors' policies, standards, and procedures, as well as any international requirements.

  • High School or equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience
  • Certificate or License
  • Specialized Training Certified Flight Training; General Pilot Training including navigation, flight operation, communication, air frame, and engine knowledge
  • Valid ATPL - Airline Transport License
  • Medical certificate CAT 1
  • Must have a valid passport

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Exercise direct command of an aircraft including responsibility for the aircraft, and act as the final authority as to the safe, legal, and consistent operation of that aircraft, in accordance with all federal regulations and Company policies, standards and procedures.
  • Operate, monitor, analyze, and/or timely and appropriately react to all aircraft operational functions such as aircraft performance, internal and external communications, air traffic, and climate conditions.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of assigned aircraft equipment type and current operational procedures.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the aircraft on the ground and in the air including coordinating tasks to permit a number of functions such as flight fueling, loading, passenger handling, and associated duties to transport passengers and cargo in a safe manner in accordance with Company policies, standards and procedures and appropriate federal regulations.
  • Address, in a timely and professionally manner, passenger care and safety on the aircraft ,and lead all crew activities related to safety.
  • Must professionally and timely coordinate efforts with others, both in the cockpit and in other operational departments.
  • Present a professional image in all public environments as a key representative of the Company to both external customers and internal employees.
  • Maintain currency requirements with regard to medical, training, and hourly flight requirements, and any additional certifications or requirements as they are required and instituted by the Company or governmental (e.g. FAA, TIA) or industry organizations (e.g. Manufacturer mandates on equipment operation and maintenance).
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
